Microsoft will no longer allow the use of unauthorized third-party accessories with Xbox consoles starting November 12, 2023

Players have reported a warning displayed on the Xbox when connecting unauthorized accessories, notifying them of the date their accessories will be locked with “error 0x82d60002” – November 12, 2023, writes Windows Central.

«A connected accessory is not authorized. Using unauthorized accessories compromises your gaming experience. For this reason, the unauthorized accessory will be blocked from use on 11/12/2023.

According to Windows Central’s own source, this may be due to Microsoft’s plans to expand its third-party wireless Xbox controller approval program. Right now, the lion’s share of third-party Xbox controllers are wired, even top-of-the-line controllers with hefty price tags.
