Threads now allow you to conduct polls and add trending GIFs

The Threads social network is gradually evolving. This time, the platform has added the ability to conduct polls and send GIFs. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, showed the new options, writes The Verge.

On his page, he published two separate posts – one with a poll and another one with a GIF. In his case, users were offered three options when voting. In general, the new Threads feature allows for up to four options.

In addition, the option includes a timer that shows the time until the survey is completed. To see the results, you need to take part in the poll. After that, Threads will send a notification about the time when it ends.

When it comes to sending GIFs, Threads has a special GIF icon for searching for files directly from Giphy. Here you can choose trending options or find a specific file.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the testing of several more features in Threads. One of them should show users the number of views of posts on the platform. Another is the ability to attach a post or a reply to it to a profile. These options are tested among a small group of people.

According to Mark Zuckerberg’s estimates, the service currently has just under 100 million active users per month. However, Meta expects to turn it into a “public conversation app for a billion people” that will be “more positive” than some competitors.
