Meta is working to allow users to delete their accounts on the new Threads platform without deleting their Instagram profile. This was announced by the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, writes Engadget.

According to him, Meta is aware of this situation and is looking for a way to solve it. The company is also working on features that are missing from the app, including next tab, hashtags, messaging.

Users can now deactivate their Threads account to hide their profile and content. They can also make their profile private or simply delete individual topics.

Additionally, you can register a Threads account with an email or phone number that is not linked to an Instagram account. This will allow the two platforms to be unlinked.

Previously, Meta officially launched the new social platform Threads, developed by the Instagram team. But it has an unexpected condition – deleting a Threads account will close the associated Instagram profile.
