The Volkswagen Atlas SUV has been updated: more comfort, less engine
German car companies seem to be working in sync: here are the recently updated large SUVs Mercedes GLE and BMW X5 – and they are immediately followed by the Volkswagen Atlas. It is worth noting that this model is offered on the US market, but there are many American cars in Ukraine now. In addition, the Volkswagen Atlas SUV is not “premium”, but the updated model focuses on raising the status.
For example, the updated Volkswagen Atlas received new AFS adaptive headlights, an LED strip between them, changed lights (also interconnected), and new wheel rim options. In the interior, from now on, the front panel is decorated with eco-leather, and the central console is 2-story: there is a pocket below.
The standard equipment was also expanded, which now includes a heated steering wheel, seat ventilation, “advanced” climate control. And the Volkswagen Atlas interior can now offer 30-color background lighting, an enlarged 12-inch central display, and a digital instrument panel. Finally, the Volkswagen Atlas SUV can offer three rows of seats – this is its specialty.
For example, the coupe-like version of the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport has only a standard version – two rows of five seats. However, such a car is distinguished by a more “sporty” appearance, a sloping rear part, and a developed diffuser. And inside you can see another decoration of the front panel with the name of the model inscription.
It seems that the novelties have only gained – however, they have lost something in terms of engines. From now on, only a 2-liter 4-cylinder TSI gasoline engine is installed under the hood, the power of which has been increased to approximately 270 “horses”. This led to the fact that, according to this indicator, it almost caught up with the large atmospheric VR6 engine – the latter was removed from the model range altogether. The engine is always paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, but buyers can choose the type of drive: front or all-wheel drive.
The initial cost of Volkswagen Atlas and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport cars is almost the same – from about $35,000.
