Yes, the “family”. After all, there are many different variations of the Mercedes-Benz GLE model: traditional SUV and coupe, AMG versions and PHEV hybrids. And all of them simultaneously underwent certain updates.
First of all, the look. From now on, cars of the Mercedes-Benz GLE family will receive new headlights with longitudinal segment lines, the number of which depends on the type of headlight. The front bumper and radiator grille have also changed, new colors and wheels have been added, and the internal “drawing” of the lights has changed. In addition, from now on, all versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will definitely receive the AMG Line package: the original design of the bumpers, large 21-inch wheels, etc.
Similar small changes took place in the interior of cars. The main thing is the appearance of a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive buttons on the spokes (although a custom steering wheel is offered for AMG versions). There are also expanded seat and dashboard trim options, and the MBUX system has improved voice control and can be updated over the air.
As for technical changes, the most important can be called the installation of the ISG starter generator on all engines for all versions of the car. The starter generator orks with a voltage of 48 volts, it offers an additional power of 20-22 hp. and 200-250 Nm of torque – all this is added at the start. Accordingly, most versions (but not all) were able to improve their own power and torque figures.
By the way, about power. Generally speaking, the Mercedes-Benz GLE lineup includes cars with in-line 2-liter 4-cylinder or 3-liter 6-cylinder engines and a 4-liter V8, and the power range reaches marks from 258 to 612 “horses” in the AMG63 S version.
By the way, besides “63” for fans of the AMG versions, the Mercedes-AMG GLE53 SUV is offered: the latter slightly added torque (now 560 Nm), thanks to which the acceleration to a hundreds km was reduced from 5.3 seconds to 5 seconds exactly.
And it is also interesting that the PHEV-hybrid got the biggest bonus for gasoline: plus 30 kW or 41 hp. – we have a total of 381 “horses”. A significant increase in power even made it possible to change the model index from the previous GLE 350e to the larger GLE 400e. The GLE 350de diesel variant and the option of choosing a body type – SUV or coupe – are also left in the range.
The start of sales of new Mercedes-Benz GLE cars will take place as in the spring-summer of this year – depending on the country.
