Tesla has significantly increased the cost of its electric vehicles

Tesla has raised prices in its line of electric vehicles, mainly in higher-end versions, with the Model X AWD Long Range rising the most, by as much as $6,000, from $114,990 to $120,990.

The price of the AWD Long Range version of the Model S also increased by $5,000 from $99,990 to $104,990. Prices for the Model Y Long Range and Performance models increased by $3,000 and $2,000, respectively. For Tesla’s most affordable electric car, the Model 3, the price increase also affected only the Long Range version, which increased by $3,500.

The company did not explain the change in pricing policy, but the reasons for this step can be many: from high inflation to shortages of electronics. Last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he could cut the company’s workforce due to high inflation. It is worth noting that smaller American electric car manufacturers, such as Rivian and Lucid, have also recently raised prices.
