Meta launches the ability to delete a Threads profile without having to delete an Instagram account. This was reported by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, according to The Verge.

According to him, this feature will be available in the “Delete or deactivate profile” section. The option is not yet available to everyone, but it is likely that more people will soon be able to use it.

Threads

In the summer, Meta officially launched a new social platform called Threads, developed by the Instagram team. But it had an unexpected condition for use – deleting a Threads account would lead to the closure of the associated Instagram profile. This situation outraged users, so the current solution is a response to their criticism.

By the way, these days, many Threads users have reported that they now have the option to refuse to show their posts on Instagram and Facebook. The option appeared in the platform settings.

To do this, in Threads, go to Privacy and select Share posts in other apps. In the new window, users will be able to disable the publication of their posts on other Meta platforms.
