CD Projekt Red is working on a movie or series based on Cyberpunk 2077
The studio CD Projekt Red has announced a partnership with the media company Anonymous Content, with which they are going to create a movie or a series with live actors in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
Anonymous Content is an American independent film production company whose most famous projects are the films Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Winter’s Bone (2010), Spotlight (2015), The Revenant (2015) and the TV series True Detective (2014-), Mr. Robot (2015-2019), 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), Catch-22 (2019), Defending Jacob (2020).
CD Projekt Red, in turn, has the experience of successful cooperation with Netflix with the series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. As a reminder, The Witcher and Nightmare of the Wolf series are based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, not on CD Projekt games. I wonder if the new project of CD Projekt Red and Anonymous Content will also be released on Netflix or on another service?
The new project is still at an early stage of development. We are currently looking for a screenwriter to tell a completely new story in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. The project is being developed in close cooperation with the creative team of Cyberpunk 2077.
