Former Apple chief designer Jony Ive and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman discussed the creation of a new product based on artificial intelligence. This is reported by 9to5Mac with reference to The Information.

It is not yet known what exactly this project involves and what the purpose of the future device will be. However, informed sources note that it is about creating “new hardware for the era of artificial intelligence.”

It is noteworthy that SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, a well-known investor in technology companies, also participated in these talks.

Interestingly, the information about Jony Ive’s possible involvement in the creation of a new AI product appeared after reports that Apple spends millions of dollars a day on AI training.

Jony Ive gained international fame as the chief designer of iMacs, MacBooks, iPods, iPhones, and other Apple devices. In 2019, he left the company and founded the design studio LoveFrom.

By the way, OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot recently received a major upgrade. It was taught to understand voice commands, respond with a synthesized voice, and recognize images.
