The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes – a trailer for the Hunger Games prequel

Lionsgate presented a trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes – the prequel of The Hunger Games trilogy.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, published in 2020. We remind you, that the original books (which, by the way, are better than the movies) were published in 2008-2010, and the movies based on them appeared in 2012-2015. The novel and the movie tell the story of the youth of the future president of Panem, Coriolanus Snow, which means that the events take place 64 years before the events of the original trilogy during the 10th Hunger Games. The film will tell us why Snow became the ruthless dictator we saw in the first films.

The film was directed by Francis Lawrence, who has made such cult films as Constantine, I Am Legend and three of the four previous parts of The Hunger Games. The role of the young Snow is played by actor Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid), co-starring Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Viola Davis (Fences, How to Get Away with Murder).

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is scheduled for release on November 17, 2023.
