The years 2021 and 2022 were generous with films in the genre of science fiction and fantasy. However, the awards will determine the best among them – and the first Saturn Awards this season is ready to name the nominees.

Batman has almost the most nominations for the award. The picture was awarded as the best film about superheroes, the acting performance of Robert Pattinson, as well as supporting actors Colin Farrell and Paul Dano were not overlooked. In addition, Timothee Chalamet and Tom Cruise were nominated for the best acting in Dune and Top Gun: Maverick.

The Disney studio has many contenders for the award in different categories. Among her nominees are Cruella, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in collaboration with Marvel and others.

Indie films were also among the nominees. Everything Everywhere All At Once, Crimes of the Future and RRR got nominated in the categories of best science fiction film, action film or international film.

Among the TV shows, the drama-comedy series from AMC Better Call Saul is in the running for the award. It has seven nominations, mostly for supporting actors. Streaming hits like Loki, Severance, and Obi-Wan Kenobi received acting and genre nominations.

In the animation genre, the award did not go unnoticed by the audience’s favorites. Animated series among the nominees are Arcane, Invincible and Star Trek: Lower Decks.
