Future car MG7 – a stylish inexpensive 5-door coupe
British brand MG shows off the first images of its upcoming passenger car – meet the second-generation MG7. The car is new, but the name is already known. We will remind: the first generation MG7 was a classic sedan that imitated the Rover 75. Which, in turn, was developed together with BMW in the late 1990s.
A lot has changed since then. The MG brand is now owned by the Chinese company SAIC, and the MG7 itself has turned from a classic sedan into a stylish 5-door coupe. Also, in general, the body shapes are similar to Audi A5 Sportback or Audi A7 Sportback. And the dimensions are quite small: the total length of the new MG7 should exceed 4.8 meters and these meters are decorated with sharp corners of headlights and parking lights, large wheels, remarkable exhaust pipes.
However, it is unlikely that there will be super-powerful engines or four-wheel drive. A 1.5-liter “turbo” with 185 hp and a larger 2-liter engine with 257 “horses” are expected. In the middle of next year, a plug-in hybrid will be added to the lineup. But first – the official debut of the MG7 with a full list of specifications and detailed photos of the car. This should happen by the end of this month.
