Ukraine did not receive aircraft from NATO again, only spare parts for repairs

Pentagon spokesman John F. Kirby’s statement last night about providing Ukraine with fighter jets and spare parts to repair them turned out to be false. That is, Ukraine received spare parts, but not planes. It was reported by Command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

”Ukraine did not receive new aircraft from partners! With the assistance of the U.S. government, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received spare parts and components for the restoration and repair of the fleet of aircraft in service with the Air Force aviation, which will allow more equipment to be put into operation,” as reported in the official announcement.

Almost from the first days of the war, Ukrainian officials have been asking NATO countries to close the skies over Ukraine, or at least to provide additional aircraft to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and air defense systems so that our military did it themselves. And although Ukraine still received some air defense systems, things are much worse with airplanes. A few times the network has already spread the good news about the provision of aircraft from different countries, but all this was not true.

Same as yesterday, when Pentagon spokesman John F. Kirby said that Ukraine received additional platforms and parts which will help to have a larger fleet in the air. Journalists hurried to interpret the word “platform” as “airplanes”. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

We remind you that from the very beginning it is primarily about Soviet-made aircraft similar to those which are already in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter aircraft Su-27 and MiG-29, Su-25 bombers. The transfer of NATO aircraft is associated with many issues, including the compatibility of armaments and targeting systems, communication and control systems, the training of technicians, gunsmiths, and pilots, the provision of spare parts and maintenance equipment, and more.

In any case, repair kits and spare parts are at least something, and we hope it will allow the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to blow up more fighters and bombers.
