Recently, Elon Musk officially opened a new Tesla plant in Austin, Texas where, in particular, they will produce Cybertruck pickups. This is a very important event for Tesla, so there was a grand opening. A Cyber ​​Rodeo event was held at the occasion, to which 15,000 guests were invited.

During the event, Elon Musk “sent” the first batch of Model Y, which the new factory began to produce, and promised that it would produce half a million of these SUVs a year before starting to assemble Cybertruck. The pickup production will be launched next year and the factory’s capacity will increase to 1 million cars a year. Also in 2023, the production of the second generation roadster is expected to begin.

In addition, Elon Musk shared plans for a self-driving robotaxi. According to him, it will have a very futuristic look, but the details haven’t been disclosed yet. Elon Musk has long been trying to create automatic control of the car, but it turned out to be clearly more difficult than he expected. A few years ago, Musk believed that self-driving taxis would be available in the US in 2020 – but in 2022, and at the presentation of Cyber ​​Rodeo, he could only promise that the next beta version of Full Self-Driving software will be available to all subscribers to the service this year.
