Google CEO Sundar Pichai hopes that his company's Gemini chatbot will be integrated into the iPhone by the end of 2025. He said this during a court hearing, Bloomberg reports.

Pichai wants Gemini to be added as an optional feature on Apple devices, including as part of the Apple Intelligence AI toolset introduced last year. In particular, iPhone owners and other Cupertino-based products have access to OpenAI's ChatGPT integration in features like Writing Tools and Siri.

To achieve his goal, Pichai met with Tim Cook several times in 2024. The Google CEO hopes that a deal can be reached by mid-2025.

Ahead of the official Apple Intelligence presentation, both companies had already discussed the possibility of integrating Google's AI models into the system, but the first choice fell on OpenAI. During the presentation itself in June last year, Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of software engineering, said that integrating models from other manufacturers was not ruled out.

Apple will hold another developer conference on June 9, where it will introduce new versions of its operating systems, including iOS 19, which, if all goes according to plan, may receive integration with Gemini.
