Google is preparing a native version of Google Drive for Windows based on ARM. This was announced by Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon at IFA, where he also said that NordVPN and ExpressVPN will be available natively on Snapdragon laptops. This was reported by The Verge.

It’s been more than two months since the launch of Snapdragon X laptops, and now Qualcomm is releasing a new octa-core Snapdragon X Plus chip that is designed to make Windows on ARM laptops more affordable. As a result, the Asus Vivobook S 15 and Dell Inspiron 14 now cost $899 each, and Qualcomm says its laptops will drop in price to $700 in 2025.

However, a lot of software familiar to Windows users has not yet been ported to ARM. One such program is Google Drive, but the company is already working on it. Earlier, Google also created an ARM version of Chrome for Windows before the launch of Copilot Plus in June.

The head of Qualcomm also said that the company is thinking about the possibility of using Snapdragon chips in desktop PCs. Qualcomm is holding a Snapdragon summit in October, so maybe we’ll hear more about desktop plans then.
