Qualcomm has officially announced an 8-core chip in addition to the already introduced 10-core Snapdragon X Plus processor, which should reduce the cost of Copilot+ computers by at least $100. This was reported by The Verge.

The new 8-core processors have the same set of features as older 10- and 12-core models, such as 45 TOPS, but significantly lower performance.

The chips have almost half the graphics power for gaming and graphics applications, and 12 MB less CPU cache.

Despite this, Qualcomm’s internal tests show that the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus is still not much inferior to the older model and the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite, except for graphics tests.
