The number of users of the Threads platform, which was launched in July 2023, is approaching 200 million per month. It is reported by The Verge.
During a call with investors, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that such growth puts the platform on the path to becoming "another great social app."
It is noteworthy that a month ago, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Threads had 175 million monthly active users. And in April of this year, there were 150 million of them.
The platform continues to grow steadily, although not as fast as during the grand launch. Also, the new indicators are still far from what Meta's CEO expected.
Last October, Mark Zuckerberg said that Meta hoped to turn Threads into a "public conversation app for a billion people" that would be "more positive" than some competitors. At the time, the service had just under 100 million monthly active users.
By the way, the growth of Meta's Threads has become one of the factors affecting Elon Musk's X platform. Recently, it became known that it suffered from a slowdown in the number of users.
It is estimated that in the second quarter of this year, the number of daily active users of X was 251 million. This is a 1.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
