The second season of The Last of Us will debut in 2025. This date is indicated in the HBO Max teaser, in which the streaming service showed the projects planned for release, writes The Verge.

Earlier it became known that the filming of the new season of the project was postponed. Recently, the showrunner of the TV adaptation, Craig Mazin, announced that production would begin on February 12, 2024. The dates were changed due to strikes by actors and screenwriters in Hollywood.

The second season of the series will take place a few years after the first. It is likely to be an adaptation of The Last of Us Part II, which will receive a remaster for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024.

Bella Ramsay (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will return to their roles in the series.

In addition to The Last of Us, HBO Max’s teaser showed footage for other projects that will be released in 2025. Among them: the upcoming series Welcome to Derry and new seasons of Euphoria, The White Lotus, And Just Like That.

But next year, the producer is preparing to present the miniseries The Penguin, as well as the continuation of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Tokyo Vice and Hacks. In addition, the teaser showed scenes from the second season of the series House of the Dragon.
