Asobo Studios and Xbox Game Studios continue to update the world in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Following the Eastern Europe update, an update for the Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands and Greenland has been released. This is the fifteenth major content update of the game – World Update XV: Nordics & Greenland.

World Update XV includes 10 detailed cities, 5 handcrafted airports, and 90 new architectural landmarks. In addition, high-resolution geographic data for Iceland, Norway, and Sweden has been updated, as well as aerial and satellite data for the entire region. Of course, new research flights, tests and travels have been added. Interestingly, this is not the first update for the Nordic countries in 3 years, the first one is World Update V: Nordics Europe (WU5) was released in the summer of 2021.

Along with World Update XV, a new official Microsoft Flight Simulator aircraft has been released – the Saab B 17A dive bomber, which has been produced in Sweden since 1941.

In late October, a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MU-2 (1963) small transport aircraft was added to the official aircraft fleet.

As a reminder, Asobo Studios and Xbox Game Studios have already announced a new version of the game – Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which will be released next year, will be available on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, and will support most of the aircraft and add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
