Apple has released iOS 17.1.1 update to fix several significant bugs. One of the most serious problems was that charging the iPhone 15 with BMW’s wireless car charger could disable NFC features such as Apple Pay and BMW’s digital car key.

This issue was confirmed by BMW’s UK account on X (formerly Twitter) in October and was investigated in cooperation with Apple. The issue affected iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models while charging in certain BMW and Toyota Supra cars.

Another less critical bug fixed by the update was a bug in the display of the weather widget on the lock screen, where the snow icon sometimes showed up as a typical file icon.

In addition to the iOS update, Apple also released other software updates to address various issues. The watchOS 10.1.1 update fixes a bug that was causing unexpected battery drain, and the HomePod 17.1.1 update improves slow or unresponsive Siri interaction. Updates for macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 and new firmware for Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Pro are also available.
