BMW wireless charging can damage the NFC chip in the new iPhone 15. This was reported by MacRumors.

Users on social media began to complain that after charging new devices via the built-in charger in BMW cars, the phone switches to data recovery mode, the smartphone screen turns white, and the NFC chip stops working.

Smartphone owners experiencing this problem receive an error message in the Wallet app stating that Apple Pay cannot be set up.

Reportedly, Apple does not yet have the means to fix this problem, so owners who contact official stores are simply given a new smartphone.

At the moment, most complaints concern the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, but it is possible that this problem is also relevant for the regular and Plus models.
