First photos of the Volvo EM90 minivan

In fact, the official debut of this electric vehicle is still about a month away, but the appearance and specifications of the Volvo EM90 minivan are no longer a secret thanks to numerous leaks. It’s no miracle: Volvo’s first minivan is related to the Zeekr 009 minivan, both brands now part of the Chinese company Geely.

Of course, the difference is clearly visible visually: the Volvo EM90 minivan has its own front end, a distinctive panel instead of the traditional grille, T-shaped headlights “Thor’s hammer”, etc. At the rear, large vertical lights connected by an insert with the Volvo inscription attract attention. But the overall body contours and side profile are the same for the two models – compare the Zeekr 009 and Volvo EM90.

And they are similar in terms of basic technical indicators: for example, the length of the Volvo EM90 is 5206 mm (only 3 mm shorter than the Zeekr), and the wheelbase is 3205 mm. Currently, there is only one version of the Volvo EM90 with a 200 kW or 272 hp electric motor that rotates the rear wheels.

By the way, the above-mentioned “relative” has twice the power and number of engines – one for driving the front/rear wheels. Therefore, we can probably expect the Volvo EM90 with all-wheel drive to appear in the future.

We will know more details later, when the official debut of the Volvo EM90 electric vehicle takes place. It is certain that the Volvo EM90 minivan will be offered only in the Chinese market, where its production will be organized. Although it is possible that such an electric Volvo EM90 minivan would be interesting in Europe as well.
