Apple has released the macOS Sonoma operating system. The company presented it in June at WWDC 2023 and has been conducting the necessary testing since then, reports The Verge.

The operating system has several features. One of them is interactive widgets that can now be placed on the desktop. Users can also install widgets on their computers from their iPhones without having to download the corresponding applications.

In addition, Sonoma has new features for video conferencing, such as background images and various animations. As for the macOS lock screen, it now looks like an iPad or iPhone screen, but with a password field instead of a numeric keypad.

The new Apple OS also boasts a game mode that promises to improve the gaming experience of users. Sonoma has also received an updated Safari browser with profiles for work and support for web applications. The operating system for computers and laptops weighs 7.7 GB.

Earlier it was reported that macOS Sonoma will be available for owners of MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and MacBook Air 2018 and later models, as well as for users of iMac 2019 and later models.
