Samsung Galaxy S24+ spotted on Geekbench: key features and first benchmark results revealed

Samsung, after the recent launch of the Galaxy Fold5 and Galaxy Flip5, is shifting its focus to the Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to launch in Q1 2024. The Samsung Galaxy S24+ has already been spotted on Geekbench’s list of tested gadgets, where key performance details and specifications have been revealed, writes MySmartPrice.

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ will be the successor to the Galaxy S23+ introduced earlier this year. The Geekbench listing has provided some important details about the upcoming smartphone:

  • Model Number: SM-S926U;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon codenamed Pineapple. It will likely be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is quite different from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with a peak frequency of 3.3 GHz for the main core, three cores clocked at 3.15 GHz, two more cores clocked at 2.96 GHz, and cores with with a lower clock frequency of 2.27 GHz;
  • GPU: Adreno 750, an upgrade over the Adreno 740 chip used in Snapdragon 8 Gen 2;
  • RAM: The variant listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM, but Samsung is expected to release a version with 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage;
  • Operating system: Android 14, likely with One UI 6 skin;
  • Geekbench scores: The Galaxy S24+ scored 2,223 in the single-core and 6,661 in the multi-core tests in Geekbench 6.

The information from the Geekbench list generally corresponds to the expectations of the Galaxy S24+ flagship model, Samsung has been updating the key specfications of its basic flagships for the past few years without resorting to drastic changes. Therefore, you can count on a better screen, processor, memory, wireless protocols and camera capabilities in the new Galaxy S24 series.
