Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has high hopes for the Threads platform. This was reported by The Verge.

During a call with investors, he was asked about his expectations for the long-term success of the new social network. According to Zuckerberg, it’s “weird anomaly in the tech industry that there hasn’t been an app like this for text-based convos that has reached 1 billion people.”

And while Threads is still far from the 1 billion user club, the network has reached 100 million registrations faster than any other consumer software product in history.

The number of users on the platform has declined significantly recently, although Meta’s CEO said last week that “tens of millions” of people use Threads every day.

According to him, the main task of the social network, among other things, is to improve user retention in the application.

“I’m highly confident we’re going to be able to pour enough gasoline on this to help it grow,” Mark Zuckerberg is convinced.

Meta does not yet promote Threads on Instagram or Facebook, and does not spend money on its marketing. That said, Threads won’t introduce ads until it reaches “hundreds of millions” of users, according to Zuckerberg.

“I think we’re really just focused on taking this opportunity, which is an awesome one that we didn’t expect at this scale,” he said. “It’s going to be a long road ahead.”

We remind you that an option of Following feed was added to Threads. It really allows you to see the posts of only those accounts to which the user subscribed in chronological order. At the same time, the algorithmic option For You also remained. To see the switch between them, you need to tap the Home button on the bottom panel or the Threads logo above the feed.
