In most cases, car manufacturers leave the car settings in their own interface without adapting them for Apple CarPlay. But Porsche decided to take a new path, and with the update of the My Porsche App, CarPlay support with greater integration of settings through Apple’s interface, not its own is available.

For example, right in CarPlay you can change the settings of the climate system, sound and lighting in the interior, you can quickly change the “mood” in the interior (activate the installed combinations of Relax, Warm up or Refresh settings), better integration with the navigation system appears. Of course, there is support for the Siri voice assistant. At the same time, Porsche Communication Management will receive closer integration with third-party music services, such as Apple Music.

The company’s electric cars will also be able to display the battery charge level in the CarPlay interface.

A nice accent in CarPlay will be the image of the corresponding car model in the menu.

Previously, Apple talked about larger development plans CarPlay, which should receive significant updates already this year. And among the automakers that will be among the first to receive the update is Porsche. It seems that the brand has already started preparing for such changes.

The first model that already has support for the new application is the Porsche Cayenne. Later, it will be joined by other cars of the manufacturer.
