One of the tech manufacturers that produces foldable smartphones is Motorola (or, you can say, Lenovo). A few years ago, the company gave a second life to the legendary Razr model, which may not have gained as much popularity as before, but still offers a pretty interesting gadget.

Back in October last year, insider Evan Blass (Evleaks on Twitter) told that the company is considering the release of two versions of foldable smartphones in 2023, and later showed early renders of the new Razr.

Now, another insider, Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) has obtained information that the second new foldable model of Motorola will be a simplified version of the Razr – Lite (and not another competitor for Samsung Galaxy Fold, as you might think). The more expensive model may have the name Razr+. On pages of MySmartPrice, Mr. Hemmerstoffer showed several images of the new product that show its difference.

Motorola plans to have two foldable models: Razr+ and Razr Lite

The Lite version will have a much smaller external display than the Razr+. At the same time, it is worth noting that it is smaller even than such a screen in the current model. In the renders, it takes up about a quarter of the panel, and this is taking into account the fact that the unit with two main cameras is “attached” to it.

Unfortunately, such images do not demonstrate all the capabilities of the display except for the time display. However, it can still be assumed that additional functions, such as displaying notifications (at least in the form of icons), controlling music playback, displaying the weather forecast, etc., will also be on the external screen.

It is still unknown what other simplifications such a smartphone will have. And here, too, we can assume that among them will be a simpler processor, less memory and battery capacity, and, say, a lower frequency of updating the image of the main screen.

It is still unknown when Motorola plans to release new smartphones, but there was a mention of the Razr+ model, which could be updated as early as June.
