The Xiaomi representative said the digital keys will be available to the owners of some BMW models since the second quarter of this year. They allow you to unlock/lock the car, as well as start the engine. Moreover, you can share a digital key with your relatives or friends without having to pass the physical key. You can store digital keys in the Google Wallet app and other applications.

We should note that the digital keys appeared on Xiaomi smartphones last fall, when the company announced this innovation for the Xiaomi 12S Pro. Then they also clarified that technology works with some BMW 3 and 5 models and a completely electric IX3. As for the German company, it actively cooperates with many smartphone manufacturers. BMW’s digital keys are currently supported by Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Vivo and Oppo.
