Coverage of 96.7% of the route: the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ukrzaliznytsia tested Starlink in Intercity+ (video)
During 2023, satellite Internet from Starlink will appear in all Intercity+ trains. This was stated by the chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia board Oleksandr Kamyshin, reports the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and Oleksandr Kamyshin personally tested how the Internet works in Intercity.
During the journey along the Kyiv — Kharkiv route, the average speed of the Internet to the port was 65.7 Mbit/s, and it was possible to provide uninterrupted Internet access on 96.7% of the route.
During the full-scale war with Russia, the Ministry of Digital Transformation team arranged for 30,000 Starlink terminals for Ukraine. Some of them were transferred for Wi-Fi in Intercity trains.
