EA Sports‘s prediction for the winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup turned out to be spot on. The Argentina national team defeated the French national team on post-match penalties with a score of 4:2. The main time ended with the score 2:2. Additional – 3:3. The goals were scored by Lionel Messi (one in play, another from penalty), Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe (one in play, two from penalty).

Using their own team rankings and simulating all 64 matches in FIFA 23, EA Sports predicted the final between Argentina and Brazil, in which Argentina should win 1-0. Lionel Messi should have scored the only goal. According to this forecast, the French national team took third place.

Well, in reality, Brazil could not overcome Croatia (3rd place in the results of the tournament) in the quarterfinals, but Argentina and France did end up in the top three. And Messi even scored two goals. But the best scorer of the tournament was Kylian Mbappe (France), who scored as many as 8 goals. Well, EA Sports guessed again and overall it was a very good prediction.
