CD Projekt Group has shared some plans for the development of its own game series and its strategy for the future.

First, the company once again announced the sales figures of its own games. The three numbered projects of The Witcher series reached a total circulation of more than 65 million copies. Cyberpunk 2077 – more than 20 million copies.

Secondly, CD Projekt Group is currently working on 6 (!) new projects. Three of them are related to The Witcher, two to Cyberpunk 2077, and one more to a new IP.

Of the three The Witcher projects, only one, namely the new The Witcher trilogy (the Polaris project), is being developed by CD Projekt RED itself. Other studios are responsible for the other two projects, Sirius and Canis Majoris. Boston’s The Molasses Flood, creators of The Flame in the Flood, who CD Projekt recently acquired, and an unnamed third-party studio led by an ex-CD Projekt employee. Canis Majoris is a massive open-world single-player role-playing game. Sirius is a smaller game.

Two Cyberpunk 2077 projects are DLC announced in September Phantom Liberty, on which 350 people are currently working, and a full-fledged sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which is still called Orion. No dates have been announced for Project Orion, given the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 it won’t be very soon.

Well, a completely new project based on a new IP is still called Hadar. The game has been in the works since 2021, but is still at the concept stage with a small team working on it. This is also a 100% CD Projekt RED project. The genre and setting are currently unknown. But…

The names of all new CD Projekt projects are related to space. These are the names of constellations and individual stars. Maybe the unknown Hadar project (β Centauri is the second brightest star in the Centauri constellation and the eleventh brightest star in the night sky) is space fiction?! Would not be bad!
