As part of the Night City Wire broadcast, the CD Projekt studio announced a story expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 called Phantom Liberty, which will be released in 2023.

The plot of the Phantom Liberty expansion takes place before the end of the main plot of Cyberpunk 2077, and stylistically it is a spy thriller, which involves the lady president of the New United States of America herself, who will be assisted by Vi. In addition, it is known that Keanu Reeves will return to the role of Johnny Silverhand and will be a very important part of the plot.

Also, in the Phantom Liberty teaser, you can see new areas of Night City that were not in the main game.

As our readers probably remember, before the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the developers talked about several story DLCs, but a year after the release, there was already only one DLC. Now it is known that the expansion will be the last project of the studio on its own engine Red Engine, after which it will switch to Unreal Engine 5.

Night City Wire also provided more details on the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update, Edgerunners Update, also known as Patch 1.6, which adds some elements to the game from Netflix anime. Players will have the opportunity to wear a jacket worn by David Martinez, the main character of the anime, and pick up a gun used by another character in the series. In addition to Edgerunners-themed items, the update adds a number of player-requested features to the game, including a clothing transmog system, cross-platform progression, the Roach Race arcade minigame, and more. Patch 1.6 is now available for download on all platforms.

As a reminder, the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is going to be released on Netflix on September 13, 2022.
