It’s not uncommon for game companies to have a lot of gameplay long before the release, but it’s not often as large-scale as with GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto 6) from Rockstar.

GTAForums user teapotuberhacker, who claims to be behind the recent Uber hack, has posted 90 videos that appear to be from the GTA 6 test build. Screenshots and clips from these videos have been widely shared on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and other platforms that have caused a reaction from the owner of the Rockstar studio, Take-Two, which began to send complaints about the removal of the video thus confirming its authenticity. It is unlikely to help, given the interest of the public and the speed of distribution of videos on the Internet.

Thanks to this massive leak, preliminary information has been confirmed that GTA 6 will be playable as a female character. In one of the videos, the character Lucia robs a waffle restaurant with an accomplice, Jason, taking hostages, just like in the movie Pulp Fiction. The timer counts down “Time to send in the cops” and it’s all reminiscent of a Red Dead Redemption 2 heist, despite the NPC mannequins cutting through objects, textual dialogue placeholders like “Jason: GENERIC_CURSE_TO_SELF” and a police car repurposed from GTA 5, only with with the inscription V.C.P.D.

It’s unclear how old this footage is, but some of it appears to be running on RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3080 cards, so the development build can’t be more than two years old. Other clips show new NPC interactions, updated user interface, and animations.

Although GTA 6 is still at least two years away, these videos show early and unfinished builds and testing of some aspects of the game. This is not the first time that the gameplay of a Rockstar game has been leaked online before release. In 2018, Trusted Reviews was forced to donate more than $1 million to charity and apologized after publishing details about Red Dead Redemption 2 ahead of the game’s launch.

It is not yet known how the current gameplay leak will affect the further development of GTA 6 and whether Rockstar will have to delay its release. We remind you that the game was officially announced in February this year.
