Tesla can greatly expand the game catalog in their cars by adding Steam support. CEO of the company Elon Musk reported on Twitter that the demo integration may appear next month.

“We’re making progress with Steam integration. Demo probably next month,” writes Musk.

Tesla already offers several games through the built-in Tesla Arcade service, such as Cuphead and Sonic The Hedgehog 1, but adding Steam can give users access to the huge games library. We still do not know if integration will come so far that it will allow users to make Steam shopping while sitting in their cars, and will there be games that Tesla electric vehicles will not be able to support. Although, rather, there will be no problem with this.

The new 17-inch Tesla device has a resolution of 2200×1300 points and a short response time, the power of AMD Ryzen Media Media system and AMD RDNA 2 discrete graphics is about 10 TFLOPS, which is almost as much as the new generation consoles. For example, PlayStation 5 has 10.28 TFLOPS, Xbox Series X – 12 FLOPS. In addition, the new panel supports a wireless game controller.

At the end of last year, Tesla got into a scandal because of the support of games that worked during the movement of an electric car. This opportunity was provided for passengers but did not guarantee that drivers would not neglect warnings or would not be distracted by the game while driving. The National Road Safety Directorate of the USA (NHTSA) even launched an investigation, but Tesla quickly agreed to disable this feature.
