Xiaomi has revealed the design of its upcoming flagships, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which will be the first smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The display on the back panel is of particular interest.
The company's teaser confirms previous rumors about a screen located near the main camera of smartphones. Xiaomi calls it the Magic Back Screen. This display will show the time. In addition, it can be used to take self-portraits through the main camera, display information from applications and other functions.
This is the second time the Chinese company has conducted such an experiment after adding a 1.1-inch AMOLED display to the back of the Mi 11 Ultra in 2021. However, the new Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max display will have more features, the full list of which will be revealed during the presentation.
Meanwhile, the new flagships will be the first smartphones in the world to receive the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and the already in-house camera developed in collaboration with Leica.
Recall that Xiaomi specifically decided to skip the Xiaomi 16 line and immediately move on to the Xiaomi 17 to better compete with the recently introduced iPhone 17 and 17 Pro and Pro Max.
