The August Steam Hardware Survey found that 32GB of RAM is steadily approaching the status of the most popular configuration among gamers. The share of users with this amount of RAM has increased to 35.42%, while 16GB has decreased from 43.12% to 41.67%. If the trend continues, the intersection of indicators could occur before the end of the year.

Analysts attribute the growth to falling DDR5 prices, the demands of modern AAA games, and the fact that new PCs and laptops are increasingly coming with 32GB of memory. Unlike video memory, which cannot be added to most modern graphics cards, system RAM can be easily upgraded by users.

Among graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 4060 remains popular in August, despite the availability of the newer RTX 5060 at a lower price. This may be due to remaining inventory or the sale of ready-made systems with this model.

In the display segment, the largest growth was seen in screens with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, mainly in laptops, and 2560×1440 pixels. Full HD holds the lead with over 54% of users, QHD has over 20%, and 4K — about 4.5%.

Windows 11 has surpassed 60% of Steam gamers for the first time, while Windows 10 maintains 35% before end of support. Linux's share has dropped to 2.65%.
