Samsung and Google announced a new augmented reality headset, working title Project Moohan, in late 2024, and even showed it to journalists a little later, and it will soon be available to buyers. According to NewsWorks, the official presentation of the device will take place on September 29, 2025.
The headset will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month, and will go on sale in South Korea in two weeks, on October 13, 2025. According to reports, the new product will cost between 2.5 million and 4 million won, or $1,800-$2,000, cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro, which starts at $3,499.
After the domestic release, the South Korean company will begin selling the Moohan in other regions, but there is no timeframe for a global launch yet. Samsung expects to be able to ship about 100,000 units of the headset by the end of 2025. For comparison, Apple shipped 224,000 Vision Pro units last year.
According to previous rumors, the Moohan headset will feature a Snapdragon XR2+ processor, two micro-OLED displays with a refresh rate of 90Hz, 12 cameras, and an external battery. It will run on Google's Android XR platform, which was introduced last year.
Recall that earlier there were also reports that Samsung plans to release smart glasses to compete with Ray-Ban from Meta by the end of 2026. They will use the South Korean company's own platform.
