LG is launching pre-orders for the 32-inch UltraFine 32U990A monitor, which the company calls the world's first 6K display with built-in Thunderbolt 5 support. The model will first be released in South Korea and Japan, and will later become available in the US. The asking price is $1,999.

LG showed off the UltraFine 32U990A at CES 2025. The monitor features a 31.5-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 6144×3456 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and support for 10-bit color. It covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and 99.5% of Adobe RGB, provides a contrast ratio of 2000:1, and brightness up to 450 nits. This makes the model a more affordable alternative to Apple's Pro Display XDR, which costs almost $5,000 and has a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

There are seven ports on the back panel: two Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) with data transfer speeds of up to 120 Gbps and support for charging up to 96 W, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, USB-C upstream for connecting to a PC, and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. Thunderbolt 5 support allows you to use the monitor as a hub for fast transfer of large files and work with modern workstations without additional devices.
