Google Gemini native app released for iPad

- 8 May, 04:58 PM

Last November, Google released the Gemini app for iPhone, which worked on the company's tablets in compatibility mode, which was not very convenient. Now, the situation has been corrected and iPad owners finally get a separate app with a chatbot.

In an email obtained by The Verge, Google spokesperson Elijah Laval detailed the features that will be available to iPad owners. One important improvement is that the new app will be able to be used in split-screen mode alongside other apps.

As for other features, users will have access to Gemini Live for voice communication, Deep Research for information gathering, and Audio Overview, which recently launched in Ukrainian, which can convert documents into podcasts.

Of course, basic features like image and video generation are also available. However, on the iPad, Gemini users will also be able to take advantage of the recently introduced Canvas tool, which improves the programming and chatbot software development capabilities.

A separate Google Gemini app for iPad is now available in all countries where the chatbot itself is available and can be downloaded from the App Store. Users will also be able to add a chatbot widget to their home screen and connect it to their Google Photos library.
