Figure AI has introduced a new generation humanoid robot — Figure 03. According to the company, it is designed for everyday tasks: from watering plants and serving food to folding clothes and cleaning the house.
Figure 03 features a completely redesigned sensor suite and hand system designed to work with Helix, Figure’s proprietary AI that combines vision, speech, and motor capabilities. The robot also features a number of new features, including wireless charging, improved audio for voice processing, and improved battery safety.
The vision system in Figure 03 is completely new and was designed for high-frequency visual-motor control. According to Figure AI, the robot's camera architecture provides twice the frame rate, one-quarter the latency, and a 60% wider field of view. Meanwhile, each hand of the humanoid robot is equipped with a built-in palm camera with a wide field of view and low latency, providing redundant visual feedback at close range during grasping.
Cameras embedded in the arms allow the Helix AI system to maintain visual awareness even when the primary cameras are obstructed, such as when working in a closet or confined space, and provide continuous, real-time adaptive control.
Each sensor on Figure 03’s fingertip can detect a force of just three grams— so sensitive that it can feel the weight of a paper clip. This precision allows Helix to tell the difference between a firm grip and a slip before it happens. The robot also supports mmWave data uploads at 10Gbps, allowing its systems to process terabytes of data for continuous learning and improvement.
In addition, the Figure 03 has been completely redesigned for mass production. Figure AI has a BotQ factory capable of producing up to 12,000 robots per year, with the goal of reaching 100,000 units in 4 years. In addition, all key components — batteries, sensors, electronics — are developed in-house. However, the cost and availability of the Figure 03 are currently unknown.
Recall that Figure AI is an American company founded in 2022. It develops humanoid robots using artificial intelligence. In 2024, it received large investments from Microsoft, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Intel and others, so it is now considered one of the most promising players in the robotics market. Last year, it introduced the Figure 02 robot, which can speak.
