Figure has unveiled a new humanoid robot, Figure 02. One of its key features is built-in microphones and speakers that are used to listen and talk to people. This was reported by TechCrunch.
Figure 02, when properly configured and all safety measures are in place at the workplace, can be used to their fullest potential.
The company has equipped the new humanoids with microphones and speakers and integration with artificial intelligence from OpenAI so that the robots can listen and talk to people while working.
Figure 02 are designed to be able to move freely without being caged or otherwise restricted. In addition, although humanoid, these robots are quite large, heavy, and potentially dangerous.
The robot weighs 75 kilograms and is 167 centimeters tall. The humanoids can lift weights of up to 20 kilograms, reach speeds of up to 1.2 m/s, and operate on a single charge for up to 5 hours.
The company also presented a video showing the new humanoids’ ability to distinguish between things in front of them and talk to real people using reasoning.
Earlier, Figure has already announced that it has begun testing its humanoids at BMW plants. The company says that the new robots have already visited the Spartanburg plant to collect data and train. They autonomously performed various tasks using a neural network.
The company also hints that the new humanoids may be available for purchase and use outside the factory, but the details of such distribution are not yet known.
