Bandai Namco and A24 are working on a feature-length film adaptation of Elden Ring. The film will be directed by Alex Garland, known for "Ex Machina" and "28 Days Later," Bandai Namco announced on its blog.
Elden Ring is set to release in 2022 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and is expected to be released for Nintendo Switch 2 this year. The game has become one of the most successful RPGs of recent years, winning Game of the Year. A co-op spin-off, Nightreign, will also be released on May 30, 2025.
FromSoftware hinted at a desire to expand the franchise beyond games back in 2022. In 2024, George Martin, one of the co-authors of the game script, reported that the studio was "in talks" about a possible film adaptation.
