German startup DeepL, known for its translator, has announced the launch of an AI agent aimed at corporate users, CNBC writes.
DeepL Agent is a tool that performs repetitive and time-consuming tasks in the background. It can be used by teams from HR to marketing. This way, the startup expands its activities beyond translation and enters the enterprise AI market, where players such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Microsoft already operate.
DeepL CEO Jarek Kutylowski explained that the agent is a natural extension of the translation product: "All of those tedious tasks in your office when you have to switch between different systems and take some data from one system, put it into another one, AI, and those autonomous agents, and the DeepL Agent in particular, can help solve so much better." The product is based on the company’s own large-scale language models, as well as models from third-party vendors.
Despite the many announcements about AI agents, the market is still in its early stages, but investor interest in AI remains high. For example, Anthropic recently raised $13 billion, raising the company's valuation to $183 billion.
DeepL Agent is designed to help automate routine business processes, increase work efficiency, and free up employees' time for more complex tasks.
The development of the agent will allow DeepL to compete in the corporate AI market and strengthen its position among large technology players.
