Apple has delayed the launch of its smart home hub due to delays in Siri features, according to Bloomberg insider and journalist Mark Gurman. The company originally planned to announce the device in March 2025, but the company's reliance on Siri's personalized capabilities has pushed the release date back.

For now, Apple has allowed some employees to test the device from home. This comes after the company announced that it needed additional time to complete work on the improved Siri that was unveiled at WWDC 2024. The new features will be powered by Apple Intelligence and will require an iPhone 15 Pro or later.

Apple originally planned to release an updated Siri in iOS 18.4, but the features didn't make it into the beta. The release was then pushed to iOS 18.5 in May, but it's now expected to arrive no earlier than iOS 19 in September 2025 or even iOS 19.4 in March 2026. The update will include deeper understanding of the user's personal context, screen analysis, and improved app management.

Due to the Siri delay, Apple has also decided to delay the Home Hub, as the device will rely heavily on these features. Gurman calls the Hub “the most important release of the year” for Apple, as it will be the company’s first big step into the smart home space.

The new product is expected to be similar to the HomePod with a 6- or 7-inch display, will receive the A18 chip and support for Apple Intelligence. The device will be able to be placed on a table or mounted on a wall.

The gadget will likely be released “within the next year,” but the exact date remains unknown.

Recall that Apple recently introduced the MacBook Air M4, iPad Air M3, 11th generation iPad, and the new Mac Studio.
