Apple continues its new product lineup and introduces the updated MacBook Air with the M4 processor, in a new blue color and at a reduced starting price.
Like the iPad 11 and the updated iPad Air, the MacBook Air hasn't undergone too many changes, but it does get a few improvements. The first and most important is of course the 10-core M4 processor, along with support for up to 32GB of unified RAM. According to Apple, this makes the new laptop twice as fast as the M1 model and 23 times faster than models with Intel processors.
The company also claims that the MacBook Air with M4 was designed with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, so buyers will have access to all of Apple's intelligence features, such as Image Playground, Genmoji, an updated Siri, and ChatGPT integration. Equally important, the company now promises up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The new laptop also gets an updated webcam. It's now a 12-megapixel Center Stage sensor, which should improve video calling quality and keep you in the center of the frame. The camera also supports Desk View, which allows you to simultaneously show both you and your desktop.
In addition to a 13.6- or 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display, buyers of the new MacBook Air will also be able to connect two external monitors with a resolution of 6K. In addition, the laptop has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, a MagSafe charger and two Thunderbolt ports for connecting accessories, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
An equally important change is that the starting model of the new laptop in the variation with a 13-inch display, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage now starts at $999, $100 less than previous generations. The updated MacBook Air will be available on March 12.
