What's new from Infiniti and Nissan: concepts, models, technologies; but what and when to expect in Ukraine?

The news about the debut of the Infiniti QX65 Monograph concept car prompted me to prepare this blog material – which reminded me of the brand in general and its recent new products. Frankly speaking, there are not many of them; but some of them will appear in Ukraine. But there are much more new products from Nissan, as well as specific dates for their appearance in our country. So…

How are things going at Infiniti?

Let's start with the Infiniti QX65 Monograph concept car, as the brand's latest novelty. According to its designation with the word Monograph, the concept car embodies an almost ready-made serial version of the car: the general design of a cross-coupe with a sloping roof (reminiscent of the Infiniti FX ) will change, if at all, then only in a few details. And according to its designation with a five at the end, the new Infiniti QX65 will be built on the basis of the Infiniti QX60  similarly to the pair Infiniti QX 55 and Infiniti QX 50.

Let me remind you that the Infiniti QX60 is designed mainly for the US market, it has three rows of seats in the cabin and is equipped with a 2-liter 272-horsepower VC – TURBO gasoline turbo engine paired with a 9-speed "automatic" and front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Accordingly, we can expect the use of similar technology for the production model, which should embody the Infiniti QX65 Monograph concept car. However, there are currently no plans to launch either the large Infiniti QX60 crossover or the Infiniti QX65 cross-coupe on the Ukrainian market.

There are plans to launch the flagship Infiniti QX 80 in Ukraine, but there is currently no exact date for its appearance. Let me remind you that the first information about the new Infiniti QX80 appeared back in the spring of 2024, since then and until today  the Infiniti QX80 Sport version (pictured below) and a couple of concepts based on the Infiniti QX80 have already been prepared; instead, we are still waiting for the appearance of at least the basic version of the model. Moreover, there is actually something to expect: a V 6 turbo engine and air suspension (for the first time for the QX80), a modern interior with excellent equipment.

And what about other new Infiniti products? For example, do you remember the Infiniti Vision Qe concept car on the topic of an electric sedan? Almost two years have passed, but there is no additional information at all - this is even if we talk about global news, let alone a Ukrainian debut. Therefore, the question posed in the subtitle can only be answered with the phrase "well, so-so" and wish Infiniti to find itself again.

What's new at Nissan?

Oh, here everything is much more interesting. Although recently a lot of negative news has fallen on the Nissan brand, it is already noticeable from the list of new products that the company does not even think of giving up. Firstly, the new generations of the Nissan Leaf and Nissan Micra electric cars have become very important debutants.

And if it is natural for the Nissan Leaf to be an electric car, then the Nissan Micra is turning into a “pure” full-fledged electric car for the first time. Even at a superficial glance, it is clear that the new Nissan Micra is based on the Renault 5 and this promises us similar technology: front-wheel drive, two power options (122 or 150 hp), two battery options (40 or 52 kilowatt-hours), maximum range – up to 408 km according to WLTP.

At the same time: it is interesting that there is no talk of "badge engineering" and outright copying. The Nissan Micra electric car is noticeably different not only in its headlights and taillights, not only in its modified bumpers, but also in its front and rear wings, and in the lines on the doors.

And it's also interesting that both new electric cars – Nissan Leaf and Nissan Micra – will not just remain somewhere in the European markets, but will also appear in Ukraine! Nissan 's preliminary plan promises us the debut of these new products after April 2026 (then the new reporting year-period at Nissan begins); therefore, the earliest electric cars will appear in Ukraine is in the spring-summer of 2026 or a little later. However, the fact is that they are scheduled for debut; yes, and Nissan Micra too!

The new Nissan Qashqai e-POWER should appear in Ukraine a little earlier. It seems that recently there has been a lot of talk about the Nissan Qashqai: about updating the model, about launching new versions; something new again? Yes – the new e-POWER system, already the third generation.

The new generation of the e-POWER system will offer an electric motor with increased power (151 kW or 205 hp instead of 140 kW or 190 hp previously) and a modified 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine, which is also used only to drive the generator and generate electricity. In addition, from now on, all the electrical components of the e-POWER system are combined into a single “5- in -1” unit to reduce weight and size. The new generation of the e-POWER system promises an improvement in efficiency by 12% and a corresponding reduction in regulatory fuel consumption. Thus, for the Nissan Qashqai with the third generation e-POWER technology, fuel consumption of only 4.5 liters per 100 km and the ability to cover a distance of up to 1,200 km on one full tank of fuel are declared. The start of sales of the Nissan Qashqai with the third generation e-POWER system in Europe is scheduled for September, and by the end of the year the novelty should also appear in Ukraine.

It would not be surprising if shortly after this we see the new Nissan X-Trail with the third generation e-POWER system; let's say, they will combine updates to the appearance and technology. Also, the new generation Nissan Juke crossover has already been announced for 2026. In addition, new Nissan models are being released for certain local markets. Therefore, the future of Nissan is already becoming brighter and we want to hope for the earliest possible appearance of new Nissan and Infiniti products in Ukraine.
