Netflix is joining the team to produce a feature-length adaptation of the game Sifu, with production companies Story Kitchen and 87Eleven, led by Derek Kolstad and Chad Stagelski, creators and directors of the John Wick franchise, also working on the film, Deadline reports.

The film's script will be written by Thomas Scott Nowlin, known for the trilogy "The Maze Runner", "Pacific Rim Uprising" and "Project Adam".

Sifu is a story of revenge in modern China. The protagonist seeks revenge on the murderers of his mentor, and thanks to a magical talisman, he cannot die, but after receiving a fatal blow, he ages by several years.

Both Kolstad and Stagelski have a penchant for video game adaptations. Stagelski's company 87Eleven has also announced work on Ghost of Tsushima and Rainbow Six adaptations.

Kolstad's Story Kitchen has also worked on game adaptations of Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, Streets of Rage, It Takes Two, and Ruiner.

We remind you that Sifu also received her own episode in the animated anthology Secret Level from the creators of Love, Death and Robots.
