According to the studio, as of December 2024, the game had more than 1 million active players. Such activity is explained by regular updates with new content, including new locations, contracts, seasonal events, and collaborations. IO Interactive also promises to release even more updates in 2025.
One of the latest updates for Hitman World of Assassination was a collaboration with Jean-Claude Van Dam, who donated his appearance to the character Max Valiant, a former ICA agent.
This add-on, called The Splitter, is a free but limited offer and will be available for a few more days – until December 12. IO Interactive also says that only 40% of players who have tried to kill Valiant have been able to complete the new mission so far. One player took more than 7 hours to complete the mission. The fastest player completed the Valiant in 21 seconds.
In October 2024, IO Interactive announced that after the experience with Hitman, the studio started working on a game about a young James Bond, which is currently known under the working title Project 007.
