Artificial intelligence is indeed threatening to replace some jobs. According to the World Economic Forum’sFuture of Work Report, 41% of employers plan to reduce staff by 2030, replacing workers with automated AI capable of performing their tasks. It was reported by CNN.

77% of employers from hundreds of large companies around the world reported that they intend to further train their employees to work more effectively with artificial intelligence between 2025 and 2030. However, unlike in the 2023 report, the adoption of new technologies, including AI, is no longer seen as a clear positive factor for job creation.

“Advances in AI and renewable energy are reshaping the (labor) market — driving an increase in demand for many technology or specialist roles while driving a decline for others, such as graphic designers,” stated WEF.

Employers predict that the fastest layoffs will affect postal workers, secretaries, and accountants. The reduction in the number of such employees will be associated with both the introduction of artificial intelligence and other changes in the labor market. Professions that can also be automated by AI include graphic designers.

At the same time, artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly popular, and skills in working with new technologies are becoming a priority. About 70% of companies plan to hire specialists with experience in developing AI tools and enhancements, and 62% are going to employ people who can effectively collaborate with AI.

On the optimistic side, the WFE notes that the main goal of adopting new technologies such as AI is to complement and support the work of employees. While some companies are planning layoffs, most employers want their employees to learn how to effectively use AI to increase productivity.
